This is a '57 150 Handyman or Utility Sedan. Chevy built this model in 1955-56-57. The cars came with no back seat from the factory, and were meant for travelling salesman to haul their products around in. The cool thing asbout these cars was you could order any engine option with them. The famous Black Widow race cars were based off this model.

This car has the potent dual-quad 283. The owner wasn't around so we could ask, so we don't know if this is a 245-horse or a 270-horse engine. Chevy only made 8,300 Handyman Sedans in '57, that combined wiht this engine option means this is a pretty rare Tri-5.

1. I had trouble with the password being accepted so here we go again, I built a 1/25th scale model of Vince Piggins "Black Widow", it was quite a challenge to change a model of a Bel-Air Hardtop to a 150 post car. I not only converted the Bel-Air to the 150, I also added the special boxed A-arms, the two shocks per wheel, the radiator fan guard rings, and the roll bar. This is the only way I could afford to own a 150 utility!!!

2. I'm not totally sure, but I believe the 270 horse power one would have the rochester fuel injection instead of the batwing dual quad set up. Great pics though...

3. Nope. The Rochester F.I. motors were rated at 283 HP (solid lifter cam) and 250 HP (hydraulic cam). The dual carb engines were 270 HP and 240 HP.

4. When I was growing up around these little power house engines, I think I saw more of the 2dr power packs swarming the competion than any other models including the BelAir Htop, whic was usually being chauffered by the little rich girls. The fuelie was a rare site around the hamburger joints. But if one show up he was never challenged too much, except for the die hard Ford guys. They just would not except defeat, but had nice glass packs.
