How Many Consider Trucks Performance Vehicles?

They're our everyday drivers, our workhorses, haulers of just about everything in our lives. Do you ever look at your truck and think about it's performance potential?

Through the dark ages of GM production, where a rear-wheel drive car was an afterthought of the lineup, and V-8s only found in the low production Corvette and Camaro, the only place to find a good V-8 with a bowtie was in a truck.

Have you ever thought about a performance project using a truck/your truck? A small sum can get you a half-ton truck with the same performance capable motor as an F-body, the old Impala SS, or even the Corvette. After the success of the Ford Lightning, is there potential in a GM performance truck? What do you think? Woudl you consider a truck for your next budget project? Should Super Chevy do more with trucks, late and early model?

2. I love all Chevys. I have had 3 first gen Camaros, 1 was a 69 RS/SS original 396 4speed car. I still have a 67 Chevelle SS convertible as well as a 71 Corvette LT-1. All of those are great, and a lot of fun, but I think my favorite to play with is my 72 Cheyenne pickup. It is very much a Super Chevy and deserves at least a small spot in this fine magazine. As long as it is a Chevy, its super in my book, and deserves to be on the pages of Super Chevy.

4. OOOOHHHHYYYAAA... I currently have a chevy truck that I am building 4wd with a full roller sbc not a mud truck but but real good street truck can also pull the boat

5. I also consider the fact that a Chevy truck a potential High Performance vehicle. I personally have 1992 454 SS. When they came out, although they had the 454 ci's, it was way under powered. I solved part of that problem by having it rebuilt. Then added a Pro-charger turbo. Because of being lyed to by the company I had do the work, they lied to me about the supposed parts they used. Like forged pistons, etc. I have spent a total of $40,000 on it. I just blew it all to hell, mainly because of a tank of very bad gas, and some cheap, weak parts. I'm sick, as I now don't have the money to fix it. There's alot of things need to be done and alot of things I would like to further do. But, I'm *** out of luck. My advice know whom your doing business with, even if you think you know the person for 50 years as I did. Sincerly, Gawaine LaFevers

6. Ive had many hi perfmance f-bodies and a 75 corvette convertable,but my daily driver is a 2003 Silverado SS with AWD,345 hp,380 tq.It runs great and handles like a sports car.I've suprised a couple of Mustang GT's and a 300Z.The older big block trucks could hang with alot of muscle cars so,yes,i consider them a performance vehicle!
