1968 belair wagon

I figured I would start out and ask how many of us include our smaller children in our automotive hobby? Our future family vehicle is this 1968 Bel Air Wagon. I had planned to drive it just as a beater, a new engine, transmission, brakes, wheels and tires were all added. One thing led to another and now here is what it looks like. Hopefully it will be painted by Christmas.

My 8 year old son begs to help, and for the most part I let him, but he soon loses interest after half an hour or so. Still, he looks up to his dad as a hero for letting him work on the car. And I guess that’s all that really matters

So how many of you guys have the kids help with the project vehicles

2. Well Suzanne the vehicle is in the middle of being restored more or less. A full tear down and rebuild of the wagon is in the plan. The body shoul dbe pulled off the frame next, and the frame will be powder coated and the suspension will be rebuilt. Finally after that it will be driven.

3. I'm waiting for my two sons to get a little older, they're 4 and 2. My older son loves cars he always has a hot wheel in his hands. Little brother seems to like things that fly. Anyway, I can't wait to get them more involved, we take them to a lot of car shows and swap meets for right now. Any, newer photos of the wagon?

5. Geezer1, thats actually how the wagon looks right this very moment. Except the body work has progressed a bit more. At least the rear 1/4 panel is done.

6. The article on your car in the magazine really lifted my spirits. I'm trying to build a 67 Impala 4dr hardtop but seemed to be the only one on earth working to make a big 4 door chevy into a hotrod. I've got my car stripped down ready for me to blast and its actually sittin on some rims that look very much like yours (SLP third gen f-body rims.) I really hope to see more updates on your car. I know that will help to motivate me.
