Growing up I would have nothing less that at least five speeds. Automatics were for girls and sticks were manly. Maybe I'm getting old or something but I enjoy kicking around in an automatic these days - for daily driving anyways. At the track I used to run with a five speed T-5 transmission, now I'd rather have a Glide or maybe even a turbo 400. More consistency is the name of the game for me, as well as better time slips at the other end. Sure I can still row through the gears of a manual transmission, but love letting off the transmission brake with two-step engaged and my foot to the floor. Is old age creeping up on me or are my views of going fast taking me in a different direction? What is your preference?
