A few months ago, I was introduced to a spectacle of modern technology known as "On Demand" television. In a nutshell, "On Demand" puts thousands of movies as your fingertips for whenever you are in the mood to kick up your feet and enjoy a show. Since signing up, I have gained 25 pounds and purchased a 'fridge for the living room.

Often, I find myself spooning with classic car movies that I just can't get enough of. I get a weekly dose of American Graffiti, Smokey and the Bandit, and for some reason, just can't seem to turn off Corvette Summer....go figure. I have always though about compiling a list of some of the great quotes from these movies and have posted just a few below.

American Graffiti

Terry Fields: "Hey, nobody can beat him man. He's got the fastest...."

Bob Falta: "I ain't nobody, dork."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Days of Thunder

Harry Hogge: "No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you.......he rubbed you. And rubbin, son, is racin'."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The World's Fastest Indian

Burt Munro: "No.....you live more in five minutes (on a bike) like this going flat out then most people live in a lifetime."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Le Mans

Michael Delaney: "Lotta people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before is just waiting."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gone in 60 Seconds

Memphis Raines: "I didn't do it for the money, I did it for the cars. Gleaming and Marina blue, Sunfire yellow, Marlboro red....begging to be plucked."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smokey and the Bandit

Bandit: "For the good old American lifestyle: For the money, for the glory, and for the fun.....mostly for the money."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not in a movie, but I love this quote.

"America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad ass speed." - Eleanor Roosevelt
