I am here at the Hot Rod and Restoration Show in Indianapolis and had a great first day of seminars. My first stop was over to Barry Grant and being my first show, I didn't know that Barry Grant himself was going to be giving the presentation. For about an hour, he explained carb basics and highlighted some of the new products they are coming out with over the next year.
Secondly, I headed over to Zoom Performance Clutches who has some really amazing dual-disc setups on the market that maximize performance on both the street and the strip. After a quick, fatening lunch at Johnny Rocket's, I headed over to see Air Ride Technologies, who definitely win the award for having the most amusing presentation. They were up front and honest about their products, the market as a whole, and the enormous amount of beer they like to drink before noon. Next, I headed over to TCI who walked us through just about all the products they have on the market, including their new transmission control unit that allows users to easily tune their electronic transmissions. My day didn't stop there, and thank god for that. The highlight of the day, by far, was the Detroit Speed and Engineering seminar. The place was packed to the brim with the who's who of suspension. The Eaton guys were there, Gary Heidt and crew, QA1, Strange Engineering, etc, and I wasn't quite sure why until Kyle and Stacy Tucker started talking. Both are ex-engineers from General Motors and when they talked, every one else listened. We may not have understood much of the hour and a half physics lesson, but you could hear a pin drop. I got an education better than just about any other I ever got in a classroom. I ended the day at Joe Gibbs Racing Oil and they are making some great products for the Hot Rod market. Superior protection, extended life, and horsepower gains are just some of the perks of Joe Gibbs Oil. As I still have two days left, and a guitar to win tomorrow, I will be posting updates as Day 2 rolls around.
