Well I guess I am a self proclaimed hillbilly. Or at least my neighbors must think so.

Its Easter weekend and the weather hovers a tick shy of 90 degrees, so you know what that means right? Its wrench turnin’ and torch burnin’ time.So I roll my ’58 Chevrolet Apache truck out onto the driveway, crank up the country music and proceed to remove the bed off my truck. Twisting bolts and nuts that have been in place for nearly 51 years can try the patience of men’s souls. And indeed it did try mine.

A partially disassembled truck sitting in my driveway must be like dirt in the collective eye of my neighborhood. While everyone else on my street is primping their freshly manicured lawns or waxing their latest SUV or luxury sport sedan, the sounds coming from my front yard are quite different. Hammers, torque wrenches, grinders cussing and country music are rendering the tranquil air in my suburban  neighborhood. The reason for all this racket is simple. After speaking with the guys at TCI they said they would be willing to update the suspension on this worn out ’58 Apache. Before that could happen I needed to remove the bed and all the front sheet metal. Thankfully TCI is only 5 miles or so from my house. I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this truck and how the suspension all comes together.
