Well, I finally got a chance to attend my first Super Chevy Show down in Memphis, TN, and had a blast. Going in, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had been to many NHRA National Events and numerous Divisional/Open events on the east coast over the years, and expected something of equal or comparable stature. Boy was I wrong.
There are so many aspects of a Super Chevy Show that I really didn’t even know where to begin. From show cars, to swap meets, to vendors, and race cars, if you are into Chevrolet’s or the industry as a whole, these shows really should not be missed.
I went to the event with fellow editor Mike Harrington and though we had some administrative work to take care of during the weekend, I made sure to stop by and see every show car and every drag car for a look. Man was there some beautiful stuff there. Hot rods, lead sleds, monster trucks, jet cars; it was all there. We were able to shoot some cars in the evenings and made some “technical difficulties” with the Mississippi. Look for complete coverage of the Memphis Super Chevy Show as well as all the shows in the up coming issues of the magazine.
