Road Trippen on the East Coast

ROAD TRIP

I recently made a trip south from New Jersey (SC Headquarters) to Virginia Motorsports Park for the Super Chevy Show. This time was a  little more unique than usual having driven (instead of flying) and being stuck in a new HHR SS Turbo with Associate Editor Michael Ficacci.

While the new HHR SS had plenty of power in both first and second gear (stickshift), it laid over a bit in the latter part of the shift pattern (maybe a fuel mileage thing). Considering that Ficacci and I are not the tallest in the world, we certainly are not the thinnest either, the cockpit of the HHR SS wasn't too bad, just a tad tight from side-to-side. We would love for Chevrolet to add armrests, to the HHR SS, although it may be too tight for those. I believe that Chevy has put together a nice little package overall when wanting to conserve fuel, while adding a little turbo kick when needed.

As an added bonus, we caught Michael "clutch slippen" Ficacci in action trackside at VMP. Just Kidding Mike.
