The Year One Experience once again proved to be THE event to attend in the early summer to kick off the racing season. From the twists of Road Atlanta, to tire-smoke at Atlanta Dragway, and the faint echoes of late-models across the highway at Lanier Speedway, no event offers such a diverse collection of show and go. Air Ride Technologies took the opportunity to unveil their new 1968 “Velocity” Camaro and left nothing to the imagination as she spent most of the weekend getting beat into submission.
Ripping up the dry course and taking some laps on the 2.54-mile road course, the Velocity Camaro took the pounding and just kept asking for more powered by a World Products 427ci LS engine producing over 610hp. Their world class air bags performed flawlessly on the road course, with the Velocity Camaro running one of the best laps of the day packed with the complete Street Challenge suspension package. The overall winner of the Air Ride Street Challenge for 1981 and earlier automobiles went to Vincent Allergretta in his 1968 Camaro, also with a full Air Ride system underneath.
