I know everyone is sick of talking about the rising cost in fuel (both gasoline and diesel), but it seems to me that rising costs are keeping the automotive enthusiast from travel and play. Are you still in the game? Or has it effected you too?
While I'm not referencing the 20 mile trip to the local dragstrip or cruise night, I'm talking about the three day weekend out of state, with the wife and children, car trailer and motorhome. It seems as if car counts are down across the nation. Is the car craze dying off? Or is it purely the cost of travel? After watching a little of the NHRA qualifying in Topeka this weekend I learned of the Nitro shortage. NHRA has already told the nitro burning monsters that testing needs to be stopped to help preserve supply. Now I can see it causing problems for the average enthusiast such as myself, but the big dollar dogs like NHRA Top Fuelers too! Is this ever going to level off? or are we in for one hell of a ride over the next few years? I'm not digging the way it's looking at this point.
