What was I thinking?

1939 Chevy - in one hand and out the other.

A couple years ago I purchased a 1939 Chevy Deluxe through a friend of a friend. The '39 was all original with an overhead valve 6-cylinder and downdraft carburetor. Beyond the dealings I walked with the gangster mobile for a mere $3,000 - not bad considering the floors were still intact and oh yeah, I drove her home, which was a good 25-miles away.

Of course as with many of the vehicles I purchase, I had the best of intentions. Finally a cool looking 4-door that I could resto-mod, as well as fit three car seats out back for the kiddies. Being that my "loving wife" hates the many projects I've taken on over the years, it seams as if a silent deal has been made - she hates the cars and I leave her out of it! Not bad I guess, but this was going to be the one for the entire family to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon.

As time took it's course I found the '39 sitting, taking her for the occasional ride around town. Having been hit with financial issues (as many of us have experienced), I decided to sell the suicide doored mafia mobile. The '39 drew $3,500 (if I remember correctly) on EBay and for once I didn't lose any money on a vehicle - amazing.
As I sit here looking at the images of the '39 Chevy I want to kick myself. Many project have come and gone, but am I ever going to encounter a deal as such again? Am I crazy? (Maybe you shouldn't answer that)
