The '67 was a base-engine coupe, painted the uncommon Lynndale blue color. It was just three blocks from my house and I'd see it in its garage on occasion when riding my bike. But I never saw the owner around so I resisted the urge to stop and check it out.
Not so the brother of my friend, Ron. Larry made the correct inquiries and walked away with a nicely preserved car at a very fair price (which I've sworn to keep to myself). The paint is worn, showing signs of fatigue and cracking, but it shines nicely. The interior is black vinyl. with a Powerfglide. Options include power steering and brakes, AM-FM radio, telescoping wheel and air conditioning. The previous owner, who had it since the early 1970s, added factory side pipes, the big-block "Stinger" hood, and an aftermarket 8-track tape player, which was mounted in the back between the two front seats (tape facing forward).
The car runs great and could be used as a nice driver, but I think Larry's itching to do a full resto on it. Which the car probably deserves.
I never inquired about the car. If I had, I wouldn't have been able to afford it. But someone asked and is now the proud owner of a beautiful vintage Chevy. Good for him.
