Up a tree without a paddle

So Project Homewrecker is out in West Jersey at my friend's house. We're installing a Pertronix Second Strike ignition box and Ignitor II module in the factory LT-1 distributor. I've hated points since my first car in 1978 and the years have not made me like them any more. Guess who came to help? That's right this big, old bear.

Second Strike from Pertronix is awesome and you can program in a rev limiter

I had not arrived. Tom was inside his massive garage/shop reading a new magazine when Mr. Bear poked his nose in the open door. Tom must have gasped when he saw the big boy as it scared the bear and it took off.

Tom mounted it under the passenger side inner fender

Tom saw where it went and when I showed up, I loaded my 200mm lens on the Canon digital. About 100 feet from his house was a very tall tree. Mr. Bear shot right up the tree. This photo is from directly below the tree and the bear was no less than 30-40 feet up. He was probably more afraid of me than I was of him. It was a strange way to start a tech shoot.

The rest of the install was a piece of cake. The Second Strike box was installed under the passenger-side inner fender. The Ignitor II went right in the distributor in place of the points. Tom made simple work out of it. After finding the correct spot for the distributor (we pulled it to check the internal gears for the factory mechanical tach drive), Homewrecker fired right up and ran like a champ.

We'll be back on the road in no time.
