I was cruisin’ to work on Route 80 last week and noticed my odometer was about to reach a pinnacle in any automobiles life. Call it Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, call it just plain strange, but I made a fact to break out the Blackberry and snap a quick photo at 78 mph. Why 78 and not 65 you ask? To put it simply, New Jersey traffic cruises during rush hour at close to 80 mph on any given day. Don’t believe me? Drive 65 on any major highway in Jersey in the passing/fast lane and watch how many middle fingers get throw your way.
But lets get back to the point. My 1995 “metallic mint green” Buick LeSabre gets me to and from work, day after day, without fail. She gets 24 mpg and had been hit more than a professional boxer. I remember the good ol’ days back in high school when I would be stopped a light behind a friend of mine in his nasty blue Honda Civic. Slowly, but surely, I would nudge up to him in the LeSabre until my front bumper nudges his, then with the earthmoving torque of the 3800 series V-6, proceed to push him into intersecting traffic as he and passengers screamed for mercy.
Ramblings aside, I want to know how many miles you have on your daily driven GM product. Someone out there has to be close to 1 million miles by now. Let me hear it.
