Coming up faster than a speeding big-block Camaro is the Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove. We always look forward to this event for a variety of reasons—it's the biggest on the tour, the cars are always a cut about, the track itself is amazing, and we can drive to the event from our office in New Jersey.
This year we have a trio of staffers on the prowl: Myself, tech editor Dan Ryder and associate editor/FNG Mike Ficacci. This is Mike's first trip to the Grove for the magazine, but he's been going there most of his life as part of the Ficacci family racing team.
The newest wrinkle to the Super Chevy show this year is the Tremec True Street class for street-legal Bow Ties. This class has been growing and we hear the Maple Grove turnout should be second-to-none. Any street legal Chevy is allowed, and it's fun whether you have a 14-second Nova or an 8-second Tri-Five. There are payouts for the quickest 10, 11, 12 and 13-second average so it's fun for the entire spectrum of enthusiasts.
We'll be bringing out the Goodmark Camaro, a 2008 Corvette test car and (hopefully) Project Homewrecker, my '72 Corvette.
Will we be seeing you there? Will you be racing? Showing? Running Tremec True Street? Let me know.
