Gas Prices Have Seemed To Level

Gas prices have seemed to level off...for now at least. Usually, once gas prices stabilize, the economy stabilizes and over time, we get back to the daily grind. No more do we cry about gas prices (I do it to). Over a few months, we just realize that we have no choice but to pay $4 a gallon.

An inside source of mine who drills overseas has informed me that gas may dwindle in the high three for a while, but the days of $2 and $3 gas are over. $4 per gallon or more is going to be the norm and we shouldn't expect anything less. Afterall, the rest of the world is seeing prices way over $4 a gallon and they have yet to cry mercy and light their automobiles on fire in protest. Does it mean less traveling? For now, probably. Right now in northern New Jersey, we are paying approximately $4.04 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. What are you guys paying elsewhere?

1. Light, sweet crude for September delivery jumped $4.58 cents to settle at $126.77 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange as the market closed this afternoon! Despite the retreat from $147 a barrel earlier this month, we are yet to see a sign of relief at pump here in Southern California! As of this morning I had to pay $4.42 a gallon to fill up my vehicle! However I slightly disagree that Oil could actually sustain its current price for a long period of time! Wait and see ... whatever goes up must come down I always say :-)

2. Lower gas price can be a very good thing for America. Payday loans may not be necessary to afford gas. Even still, a lot of the trends that started because of high gas prices have continued, even though prices are lower again. During summer last year when gas prices hit its highest, many people were changing their traveling methods to anything inexpensive and energy-efficient, anything that can save extra money. People were walking, riding a bike, and taking public transportation. Today, with gas prices at their cheapest in 5 years, Americans are still driving less and it continues to decline. So the transportation commission is considering a hike in gas taxes. The tax money is used to fund road construction and repair, and the current amount being collected from gas taxes is apparently not enough.
