Today begins the annual Performance Racing Industry trade show from Orlando, Florida. It's a more hardcore version of of SEMA. Lots of hot rod parts and racing stuff, but no pink windshield wipers, undercar neon or booming stereos.
While the show doesn't open until Thursday, I did some sneaking around after getting my exhibitor badge, checking out some new stuff. One such goodie was this Edelbrock/Pat Musi crate engine, which is not for the faint of heart. The 632-inch plant makes a robust 1,209 horsepower N/A and 1,666 on the sauce.
The Rat features Edelbrock's new 18 degree Big Victor CNC cylinder heads, a Dart Big M block (10.2-inch deck), a hydraulic roller cam, Jesel belt drove and Big Victor rocker arms and E-brock Big Victor intake. Nitrous come via Edelbrock's Super Victor direct port nitrous injection system.
Stay tuned for more updates this week from PRI. At 10 a.m., we will bring you the lowdown on GM Performance Parts' most incredible and shocking crate engine to date.
