Historic Pro Stock On Display

While covering the PRI Trade Show in Orlando, we happened upon the legendary Grumpy's Toy 1974 Vega Pro Stock at the Jesel booth. The car, built by SRD Race Cars in Malvern, Pennsylvania , is part of the Don Wallace Collection today.

It was the first Pro Stock to run a MacPherson strut front suspension and to utilize a dry-sump oiling system. Power came from a 331-inch small-block. The car won the NHRA Summernationals in 1974, driven by Larry Lombardo.
