For the longest time, you couldn’t get a ticket to either of the NASCAR Cup races at Bristol Motor Speedway. With nearly 170,000 seats around the fabled half-mile, high-banked “bull ring”, tickets to a Bristol race were some of the hardest to come by. At one point in time, there was a waiting list more than a year long. The list got so long, the track actually stopped adding names to it at one point.
Thanks to the downfall of the economy, such is not the case anymore. How do I know? Well right before Christmas, I got a letter from Bristol Motor Speedway telling me that I had an exclusive opportunity top buy a season ticket package for both Nationwide races, along with both Cup races.
While I would love to catch a race at Bristol (who wouldn’t for that matter), I am in much the same boat as everyone else in this great land of ours. I am doing the best I can to put some money away, all while trying to find a suitable house for the missus and the cars. While the economy will take a turn for the better, for those of you who can, I suggest taking advantage of things such as this. You never know when Bristol tickets might come along again.
