So I expected the new year to start off slowly. I came into the office on January 5th, got the usual cup of coffee, kicked my feet up on the desk, and mentally prepared for things to come. Not five minutes into my morning lullaby was I bonbarded by phone calls and e-mails. Parts were coming in, stories needed to be written, and the usual hustle and bustle just could not give me a break!!!!
It was then that I recieved an e-mail from a friend (enemy) across the office on MM&FF magazine concerning the Maxton Mile. You see, he knew I wanted to make the trip to the Texas Mile this year and figured he would cut a few hundred miles off the trip. The Maxton Mile is a 1-mile straight-away romp across an old military airfield to see how fast your car can go. So one thing led to another, and after a few phone calls, there is now a caravan of Corvettes, F-bodies, and G8s with preliminary plans to head down to North Carolina April 4-5.
