Camaros On The Streets Of Michigan

A couple of pictures from the launch

We were up in Michigan earlier this month for the 2010 Camaro launch, which you can read all about in the July issue of Super Chevy. Needless to say, we loved the driving experience and should have one at the track for testing soon. We expect 12s, even for the automatic. If this car were 500 lbs lighter it would be near perfect. It's a missile.

From behind it is even harder to tell as the RS and SS badges look very similar at first glance

We wanted to share a couple of pictures with you. The car looks so great in the real world. It's a thoroughly modern, contemporary design. At this stop on the drive, a woman was so excited she jumped out of her car in her flannel pajamas and peppered the Chevy PR folks with questions. "I can't believe I am out here in my pajamas," she shrieked. It was pretty funny. As embarrassed as she was, she stayed for over an hour, just talking to everyone, drooling on the cars, and asking when she could buy one.

This was pretty much everyone's reaction wherever we stopped. Of the more than 14,000 customer pre-orders, somewhere between 65 percent and 83 percent were bought with the V-8 (depends on who you asked at Chevy)! Trust us, the V-6 car is the best  non V-8 Camaro ever, a legit 14-second hot rod with quality interior materials, high style, etc.
