Was in the junkyard hunting parts Sunday when my buddy Craig and I came across this stunning find...
We were walking through the GM aisles when we cme across this poor old girl. Rusted worse than an old freighter, this '55 Packard Clipper Custom was screaming to be put out of its misery.
Packard built less than ten thousand of these cars in '55, when Packard was fading from the frontline automotive scene and on its way to merger with Studebaker and Hudson to form AMC.
This Clipper still had its 352 V-8 between the fenders and hydramatic transmission behind. A lot of the trim was gone, but there were still a few odds and end left on the car. Craig and I both agreed this car needed to be pulled from the yard and blown up/scuttled/burned in some manner equivalent to a Viking funeral that would give this old Packard an honorable burial.
Even rusty, still a hell of a great car, a lot better than some of the new stuff you see today.
