We've been meaning to blog about this for a couple of weeks. We shot these pictures of a pre-production COPO engineering vehicle at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas in November.

Engine is a correct "date coded" CE replacement block displacing 427 cubic inches

According to Jim Barber, whose Classic Automotive Restoration Specialists crew brought the '69 Camaro owned by John Miller back to life, the car has the correct code on the transmission and rear and a "correct CE" L-72 replacement engine block. Barber said the car has been verified by the GM Heritage Center and by expert Alan Colvin as being a legit pre-production COPO machine. The car had never been registered for street use before 2006.
