At the PRI show last week, World Products debuted to the public the first production aluminum "409" W-series block to come from their casting facility.
World Products is known for casting and machining out of billet some of the best engine blocks and heads on the planet. Thanks to the new aluminum head from Edelbrock, interest in the old 348/409 W-series engine family has spiked, with old school racers and performance enthusiasts looking to bring the old engines back. The problem is, what about a block? Good 348/409 blocks have become scarce, unless you have the gagillion dollars to buy a custom made billet block.
Seeing a need for this block, World stepped up to the plate and took one of their Mark IV big block castings and modified it to accept W-series heads, water pump, etc.Watch for more on this block in the pages of Super Chevy, and int he meantime check out these photos.
