Project American Heroes Auction Shifts To California

Charity project car to go on the block in June

Due to problems caused by high winds and rain at the recent Scottsdale, Arizona, Barrett-Jackson auction, Project America Heroes III, our ’70 Chevelle charity car, will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson auction at the Orange County Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, California (June 25-27) instead of Palm Beach, Florida, in April. Project American Heroes III, built by Route 66 Motorsports in New Lennox, Illinois, features the finest the aftermarket has to offer, including a genuine factory-supercharged LSA small-block. Proceeds from the auction, as always, will go directly to the Armed Forces Foundation, a charity which helps wounded soldiers in need and their families.

The unusually bad weather in Arizona caused a number of scheduling snags at that event and as a result, a number of charity cars weren't able to go across the block there and were re-scheduled for Florida. This meant our Hero was bumped to the next-scheduled Barrett-Jackson event. Barrett-Jackson graciously auctions this car with no fee for either the buyer or the seller and the check for the sale is made directly to the Armed Forces Foundation.

The wheels on this car feature the insignias of all six branches of the US military
