The good news is GM unveiled the official 2010 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car recently and it is a stunner. Unlike some past Pace Car replicas—we're thinking C5 purple Corvettes with yellow wheels and yellow leather seats—this one does not detract from the appearance of the car. In fact, you can make a strong argument it is the best-looking 2010 Camaro yet. Check out the grille, which reminds us of the '69 RS grille minus the hideaway headlights. We also love the color and the stripes that cover the entire top side of the car, not just the hood and decklid.
On the downside, Chevrolet has told us there will be no Pace Car replicas offered for sale the general public. Major bummer. Oh well. I guess those who want one will have to build their own. If we are not mistaken, the grille we be offered through Chevy dealers.
This leads us to our next question: What was your favorite Indy Pace Car of all time and your least favorite and why? There have been many good ones over the years and a whole bunch of ugly ones—even some not ever distinctive cars. Let us know your thoughts.
