2010 Super Chevy Show Event Schedule

The 30th anniversary season of the Super Chevy Series will feature some of the nation's top racing venues in 2010. The new series owners approved the schedule over the weekend, allowing racers, participants, sponsors and the host facilities as much time as possible to prepare for the celebratory season.

4. Here's the official reply with regards to the Indy Super Chevy Show from Ryan Haas: "Thanks for your inquiry about the Super Chevy Show in Indy. The new owners of the Super Chevy Show discussed the series returning to NHRA facilities, but it wasn’t feasible for 2010. We hope that the series will be able to return to Indy in the near future, and will keep everyone posted on the series website www.superchevyshow.com

In the meantime, other folks that have inquired about the Indy event said until it returns there they will attend the Joliet, IL, or Norwalk, OH events. We hope to see you at one or more Super Chevy Show events during the 2010 season."

5. I'm just curious with what happened with the show that was in Memphis. Even if its not held at NHRA facilities it could be held somewhere else. St. Louis would even be a fair chance of a place. just think its crappy we are told we now have to drive nearly 6-7 hours one way to go when we had Memphis 3 hours.

6. I have heard from a good source that Super Chevy will not be at Route 66 in Joilet, Il. this year either. Why don't they move it to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisc. on the same weekend? I'm sure a lot of the attendees from Joilet will go there to watch/race. It's a lot closer than Norwalk, Ohio.

7. Its sure is awful cause they not having the super chevy show in memphis, anyway what happen i enjoyed going there every year,its a 3hr drive from my home

8. What happened to the Super Chevy event at Alanta Dragway. I live in S.C. about 45min. from the track and have been attending for about 10+ years. I recently found out that there will be no superchevy show this year in Alanta. Who made that decision and why are some tracks having the event and some not. The Alanta event was always busy and had to have been profitable so why drop us. Any explanation????

9. Hope SCS comes back to Atlanta in the future. Been going for 18 yrs and missed a few for gas thing and family. I almost goofed and scheduled rooms this year based on last years schedule. My son and I loved our all car guy weekends. Much prefer Super Chevy over a mixed show.

12. lookin forward to Having Super Chevy back to Bristol, as i only live 25 minutes away. fortunately NOT working any overtime this weekend. so i can lounge all i want around the Hallowed grounds of the Bristol Dragway. got a few parts(always) i can be getting for my 69 Chevelle Malibu, still a project right now . The 406 is on the stand next to the car now... just kinda debating how to top it off. Procharge or EFI. anyway, yall have fun and enjoy. i know i will !!!

13. Hopefully some of you fellows and gals who are coming to Phoenix on the 22nd of this month will see this post. I want to give you a heads-up that we actually tech race cars here.

The rules that we will use to tech by at this event are the E.T. Handicap Racing and Advanced E.T. Handicap Racing sections of the 2010 NHRA Rulebook. Also, we will use the General Regulations section of the Rulebook when the rule is not fully explained in either E.T. Section.

Here are 10 of the most common infractions that we see with cars from other areas of the country:

1. Short wheel studs and/or nuts that are not fully threaded in the hex portion of the nut. The rule applies to ALL studs on ALL race cars and can be read on page 4.5 of the 2010 Rulebook.
2. Lack of a full 360 degree girdle on cars using an SFI 4.1 rigid transmission shield.
Rigid shields have a 5-year life. Check the date tag on your shield.
3. Outdated flexible blankets. SFI 4.1 flexible transmission blankets have a 2-year life. Most often, we see them on cars using aftermarket planetary transmissions. Check the date tag on your blanket. Blanket will be required on planetary transmissions on cars 9.99 and quicker using a supercharger, a turbocharger, methanol or nitrous oxide and on ALL cars 7.49 and quicker using a planetary.
4. Lack of a safety tubing cage on front-mounted fuel cells that are mounted outside the body lines or frame. See section 1:5, tanks, page 20.4 of the 2010 Rulebook.
5. Lack of full-circle welding at the B-bar/C-bar connection at the roof of the car. We usually find this on cars with rollbars, not usually on rollcages. If the weld is not complete, gussets welded into the connection will be required. Reach up there between the top of the bar and the roof of the car with your fingers. If you feel a sharp edge, you need gussets.
6. Crotch straps mounted too far forward. Crotch straps must be mounted behind the driver's chest line as viewed from the side of the car. Visualize a line down the driver's chest and stomach and carry that line on to the floor of the car. The crotch strap should mount BEHIND that imaginary point. Strap must be routed through the seat on aftermarket seats. Strap may route around front of seat with OEM-type seat. See section 10:5 (illustration) on page 20.37 of the 2010 Rulebook.
7. Lack of a toe-hook if using either a fabricated mechanical throttle linkage or an altered OEM mechanical throttle linkage. This hook allows the driver to pull the throttle back to idle position with his/her toe in the event the throttle blades jam over center. See section 1:12, page 20.9 of the 2010 Rulebook. This toe-hook rule does not apply to cable or hydraulic throttle actuation.
8. Master On-Off switch does not kill engine. We will have the driver bring the engine up to 3000 rpm's (to insure that the alternator is feeding the system) before we turn the switch off. If this does not kill the engine, the car fails technical inspection.
9. Traction devices (slapper bars) with no safety loop at the front, up and around the leaf spring; Lack of safety loop on front of ladder bars. See section 3:5, page 20.15 of the 2010 Rulebook.
10. Clutch can (aftermarket bellhousing) out of date. There is a tag on the can that clearly shows the Expiration Date. Check it before coming to Phoenix.

15. Need to know why we are not returning to Ga. we Love the events over the pass years what happen? I know we were producted in the turn out.
