It seems crazy to be discussing the June issue of Super Chevy in March, especially when the May issue hasn't even hit the newsstands yet, but we wanted to make you aware that a 100-page magazine will be bagged with the regular June issue on the newsstand. There will be no up-price on the magazine—just our regular $5.99 bargain and you'll get the June 101 Paint & Body Tips issue and the Project American Heroes III build guide in one package.
The outsert (the cover is seen here) isn't just pick-up material from past issues. It includes a full-color feature on the finished 1970 Chevelle, a double-sided poster, and three all-new technical articles covering the creation of its one-of-a-kind interior, how we hooked up the wiring and computer for the supercharged GM Performance Parts LSA crate engine and got it to run, and the installation of the Old Time Air climate control system.
The June issue hits the newsstand on April 20 and the car itself goes to auction at Barrett-Jackson in Costa Mesa, California, the weekend of June 25-27. Last year, we raised $500,000 for the Armed Forces Foundation when we sold Project American Heroes II, a ’69 Camaro SS. Can we top this sale price, the proceeds of which go directly to the Armed Forces Foundation? We hope so. Maybe you'll be the lucky bidder.
