For years Tri Five Chevy wagon restorers have had to deal with patching rusted tailgates, or scouring desert boneyards for rust free examples. Thanks to Real Deal Steel, a brand new complete tailgate for 1955-57 Chevy Station Wagons (also fits Pontiac) is now available. All inner bracing, nut plates, rain gutters are in place and 100% correct! The finish and detail is amazing. The only skin holes are the holes needed to attach the handle. The trim holes were eliminated to allow the gate to fit all three years. Even though this tailgate will not fit Nomad or Safari,- Real Deal Steel is working on an offering for Nomad guys also, so stay tuned!
Also new from Real Deal is their one-piece trunk floor (with braces) for '55-'57 for use with Real Deal's wider wheel tubs to allow for a 13-inch wide tire. The new trunk floor can also be used in convertibles as long as the upper trunk body mount is not used. Real Deal also offers the trunk and tubs togeteher as one unit to make thigns even easier for customers looking to put a lot of rubber in the back of their Shoebox.
