Chevrolet announced today that's it's going to apply a new model name to its 2013 NASCAR Spring Cup Car (retiring the Impala), but won't say what it is. What do you think they will call it? According to Chevy, it won't be an existing name.

Of course, that means there's a new model coming from Chevy for 2013. Let's hope it's not ugly and that it has rear-wheel-drive and a V-8. Could it be the Caprice? Hmm ...

Speaking of NASCAR, the new Charger looks a lot like the production car from the nose and the side. So, too, does the new Ford Fusion. Maybe there is hope that the cookie-cutter, spec-series days of NASCAR are winding down.
