Not too long ago, Chevrolet Europe posted a video on its YouTube channel featuring the new 2014 Corvette Stingray with Patrick Herrmann, Technical Manager Communications at Chevrolet Europe, behind the wheel. Herrmann speaks about the exhaust that the C7 is equipped with before bringing the car to the Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hyde exhaust shop to compare the C7 exhaust to those created for Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Herrman touches on the differences in sound, which vary depending on which mode the car is in (he pointed out Tour and Sport), and goes into brief detail of how the exhaust actually functions. The Corvette’s system adjusts the timing of the electronically controlled exhaust valves to enhance audible feedback from the V-8.
“The important point from Jekill and Hyde is we will search for sound and emotion, and it’s also the same with Corvette – sound and emotion,” said owner Mario Müller.
