Super Chevy took a road trip out to visit National Parts Depot in Ocala, Florida, last week to pick up parts for our “Back to the Street” Camaro project. If you’ve been following the build, you’ll know that our Camaro’s chassis, engine, suspension, and body have all already been addressed. In the February 2013 issue of Super Chevy, we installed a factory fit harness and now we’re at it again.
National Parts Depot supplied us with a slew of interior parts including headliner, door panels, dashboard, interior trim panels, and hardware to give the Camaro a beautiful interior to match its exterior. You can look for the install in our November 2013 issue!
While there, we took some time to view the private collection of 200 cars in the warehouse. An extraordinary mix of the Big Three sits evenly spaced on carpeted floors. Most, if not all, of the vehicles are low-mileage and many are super rare.
We’ve been told that the collection helps with research, as they are unrestored original cars. Having the cars in their warehouse allows NPD to confirm that their reproduction parts are as "original" as possible, and helps the staff relate to and answer customers' questions.
We were impressed to say the least, and spent quite a bit of time drooling over the cars. Check out a few pictures from our visit!
Right now, NPD carries parts for ’67-’81 Camaros, ’64-’77 Chevelles, ’64-’83 Malibus, and ’64-’87 El Caminos. To order a free catalog, check them out at www.NationalPartsDepot.com.
