Legislation (H.B. 133) has recently been introduced in Ohio in an effort to reverse the requirement of front license plates on all vehicles.

There are several reasons for the discontinuation of the requirement of a front plate. H.B. 133 could save money and conserve resources, as well as making Ohio the twentieth state to require only a rear plate. H.B. 133 would also protect the design contours of collector cars and relieve vehicle owners of the burden of having to create mounting holes on some fabricated and original bumpers. Front plates also cause unnecessary damage in the result of a minor collision.

The bill has been referred to the House Transportation, Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee for consideration. Please do your part to help H.B. 133 pass!

Please e-mail members of the Committee (listed below) and send a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. And don’t forget to pass the information along to your friends!
