Optima Batteries recently let us in on a bit of exciting news about next year’s Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational Series. As you know, a 1976 Corvette took first place this year with six other Chevrolets following within the top ten finishing spots. Next year, the Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street Car television specials will expand into an all-new national series along with a full schedule of premier automotive events. A new Ultimate Street Car Association will be responsible for overseeing each of the ten events, giving hopeful enthusiasts the opportunity to participate or spectate throughout the series.
"Our vision is to proactively support the growth of the automotive aftermarket through safe, exciting and affordable enthusiast events that feature street vehicles using aftermarket parts,” says Cam Douglass, director of product development and marketing for Optima Batteries. “We encourage participants among all street legal vehicle makes and models, to participate in activities that test vehicle design, performance and driver’s skills in a fun and safe atmosphere. All events will have a competitive element, while focusing on safety, fun and industry growth.”
